The term ‘colored people’ is reserved for the NAACP. Here’s why that’s OK and not offensive

Right-wing Black racial advocates have their crosshairs aimed at The NAACP (National Association for the Advanced of (Colored People), and not for the reason you might think. The Congressional Black Caucus denied Rep. Byron Donald’s inclusion because of his conservative views.

In this instance, inclusion cannot be offered to this Black congressman because he chose not to subscribe to the monolithic Black liberal and democratic ideology.

No tears should be shed for a Black man who does not know that he is only being used by Republicans as a prop. Donald’s personal views, experiences, and choices are no excuse for him to make his own political decision.

Byron has decided to highlight the left’s hypocrisy by throwing his hat in the racial offensive Olympics by admonishing the NAACP’s continued use of the term ‘colored people.’ Why go after the NAACP? He figured he’d take the two birds, one stone approach.

The NAACP and Black Caucus are in lockstep with decision-making Byron disdains like calling for Student Loan Forgiveness, declaring the National Anthem Racist, and begging for Diversity at CNN.

Hurt people hurt people, and people hurt by groups, hurt other groups, and that’s why the NAACP caught a stray. from Donald’s.

The crux of Byron’s argument is that he thinks the NAACP should remove ‘colored people’ form their name. In 1909, when the organization was founded, that term may have been appropriate. In 2023, democrats, liberals, progressives, and people who are perpetually offended should be in universal alignment to eliminate the term.

However, the NAACP indicated that maintaining term “colored people” in the name is important to highlight the fight to fight against racial discrimination and to preserve history in its natural habit.

An anonymous high-ranking NAACP official explained, “the term ‘colored people’ is Black American history, therefore, it’s American history and there’s enough of that going on by Ron DeSantis who is trying to erase Black American history in Florida.”
